Swedish Massage (1/2 hour, 1 hour or 1 1/2 hour treatments)

Swedish Massage is designed to energize the body by stimulating circulation. Five basic massage strokes are used to manipulate the soft tissues of the body. The dis-robed client is covered by a sheet with only the area being worked exposed. Oil is used on the skin to reduce friction. Aside from increased circulation, studies are showing that regular Swedish Massage may speed healing and reduce swelling from non-acute injuries.

Pregnancy Massage (1 hour or 1 1/2 hour treatments)

A modified version of Swedish Massage specifically designed for the pregnant client is used. The pregnant client is also bolstered with pillows in side lying positions. This massage is available after the 1st trimester and used to re

uce pregnancy discomforts and enhance the physiological and emotional well-being of both mother and fetus. In the postpartum period, massage helps to rebalance structure, and physiology. Ask about partner and infant massage instruction when booking this service as skilled, appropriate touch is said to facilitate labor, shorten labor times and ease pain and anxiety. Infant massage can help all caregivers bond with the infant.

Neuromuscular Technique (1/2 hour or 1 hour treatments)

Neuromuscular therapy is also called trigger point myotherapy and consists of alternating levels of concentrated pressure on the areas of muscle spasm. The massage therapy pressure is usually applied with the fingers, knuckles, or elbow. Once applied to a muscle spasm, the pressure should not vary for ten to thirty seconds. During this session healing castor oil is applied to the trigger point area along with hot or cold packs. The American Academy of Pain Management recognizes this form of massage therapy as an effective treatment for back pain caused by soft tissue injury (such as a muscle strain).

Reflexology (1 hour or 1 1/2 hour treatments)
Reflexology is the physical act of applying pressure to the feet and hand with specific thumb, finger and hand techniques. Similar to the principles used in acupressure, reflexology works with the body's energy flow to stimulate self-healing and maintain balance in physical function. Each Reflexology session includes a footbath using Dr. Singha's Mustard Bath (a detox solution).

Acupressure (1/2 hour or 1 hour treatments)
Acupressure is an ancient Chinese healing method used to cure many common ailments. It involves applying pressure to certain points throughout the body to relieve pain and promote good health. This modality has been gaining acceptance in the United States since the 1970's. The client can choose to remain clothed for an acupressure session. If undressed, the client will be draped as in a Swedish style massage. Accupressure points are pressed for a number of seconds or massaged in a clockwise or counterclockwise fashion. This type of work can be useful when the body is fighting infections or otherwise not receptive for a circulation type massage.

Raindrop Therapy & Hot Stone (1 hour)
Raindrop Therapy is a gentle massage employing 9 highly therapeutic essential oils. The oils are massaged into the feet, inside lower legs and back. These oils are anti vital, anti bacterial and are said to stimulate the immune system. The penetrating heat of hot stones are used to help these oils penetrate deep into the muscles.  Raindrops & Stones is a beautiful meditative massage treatment that brings a warm spal like bliss deep into the body.
